Elijah: A Man of Like Nature
When the enemy of God brought Baal into Israel like a flood, the Spirit of God raised up Elijah against him. The Lord used a lowly Tishbite to accomplish His purposes. Yet Elijah was as human as the rest of us. Where he differed from the average believer was in the single-minded devotion to God. When God commanded, Elijah trusted and obeyed. He was a man of faith whose works of faith have followed him to provide believers an example of faithfulness amidst spiritual apostasy today.
Behold, I am going to send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord. He will restore the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, so that I will not come and smite the land with a curse. Malachi 4:5–6
