First & Second Thessalonians: Looking for Christ's Return

HOW DO WE FIND HOPE WHEN OUR WORLD IS FALLING APART?

EVERY HUMAN BEING ON EARTH IS UNIQUE, and every person has their own struggles and trials. When trials are at their worst, when hope seems unimaginable, believers may be tempted to question the hand of providence. In the deepest of trials, they must keep walking a righteous path, and take comfort in the fact that God will make all things right.

It was on in the history of the Church, just twenty years or so after the death and resurrection of Christ, when persecution ripped Paul from his young gathering of believers in Thessalonica. Filled with anxiety and undergoing strong persecution, these believers were certainly feeling like everything was caving in around them.

Paul wrote 1 Thessalonians to encourage them in their suffering and to draw their attention to the comfort that can be found in the second coming of Christ. With 2 Thessalonians Paul continues to remind them that Christ's return will vindicate their place as rightful children of the living God. He corrects the false teachings of some who said that the seven year Tribulation had already begun and the Lord's return was so imminent that people should quit their jobs.

In this commentary, Mike Stallard's sound biblical teaching and compassionate heart combine to encourage readers to walk in righteousness and find hope in the second coming of Christ.

Grace & Truth Volume 2
$11.99

The title of the book claims that these essays on Bible interpretation are “for the edification of the saints.” The articles allow for the average Christian to comprehend the seriousness of the sometimes-complicated issues being discussed. Moreover, application is often made throughout the work by the various authors so that the truth is not left in the academic-only realm.

This is a noble attempt to wade into the deep waters of hermeneutics and theological method in a way that allows lay people to engage the material. Yet the substance is sufficient to challenge students, pastors, and professors in our schools. The reader will not be disappointed. We should not avoid the topic of proper method of interpretation.

Books on hermeneutics and theological method abound within biblical scholarship. Despite this proliferation of comments on prolegomena, more is needed, especially from the dispensational viewpoint. That is what this volume provides.

Freely By His Grace, edited by J.B. Hixson, Rick Whitmire, and Roy Zuck.
$24.99

For centuries people have enjoyed singing about the "amazing grace" of God. Discover in Freely By His Grace why God's grace is so amazing... and free! Grace is what distinguishes authentic biblical Christianity from every world religion. Grace is free to the recipient but costly to the Giver. It changes lives and eternal destinies. It characterizes the Giver as "the God of all grace." True biblical theology must then be absorbed with God's grace.

Freely By His Grace provides a thoroughly biblical approach to theology, demonstrating how God's grace remains consistently free in such relevant areas as Free Grace Theology, The Gospel, Lordship Salvation, Discipleship, Faith, Repentance, Regeneration, Eternal Security, Assurance, Sin, Sanctification, Rewards, Dispensationalism, Missions & Evangelism.

Freely By His Grace is written by fourteen different authors and leaders, including pastors, professors, seminary presidents, and ministry heads, who provide a wealth of sound biblical, theological, and practical insights into the theme of God's amazing free grace.
